XMAS FAF Hackathon 2022

The Xmas FAF Hackathon held on December 23–24 was a resounding success. Over the course of just 24 hours, 75 Software Engineering students, organized into 15 teams, developed innovative projects and pushed the boundaries of technology.

The theme of the Hackathon was “Secret Santa”, where each team randomly selected a “User Persona” for whom they developed a software product. Participants demonstrated immense creativity and technical skill, working intensely to bring their ideas to fruition and present them to the public.

Students worked on a wide range of software projects, from social networking platforms to artificial intelligence solutions. The creativity and energy in the room were truly fascinating — the fact that nearly all participants were still coding at 4:00 AM highlights their extraordinary dedication to finishing on time and presenting a remarkable product.

At the end of the 24-hour sprint, the results presented were highly impressive. The best projects were awarded by the event’s sponsors, including Mixbook, a long-standing partner of the FAF organization. The Technical University of Moldova provided cash prizes for the top three winning places and the “Audience Choice” award.

Throughout the event, participants benefited from the support of an experienced team of mentors who brought a wealth of knowledge to the table, offering advice that helped participants reach their goals.
